Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa means β€œbreath synchronised movement / connection of movements”. It is a dynamic flowing form of yoga which harmonises breath and movement to give strength, grace and freedom. With a beautiful and powerful flow between the poses, you improve circulation, stimulate the abdominal organs, strengthen the body and stretch the muscles, leaving with a very good and relaxed feeling.

Vinyasa yoga is a great place to start if you a newbie to the world of yoga. Movements are typically held slightly longer, with slower transitions.

 

Dynamic Yoga

The Dynamic practice engages, releases and strengthens; it shifts energy and creates warmth in the body. This class delivers movements that are synchronized with the breath to fully harness the mobility of the body, to awaken and energise it. As well as the physical strength and flexibility, the focused sensitivity to sensation quietens and clarify the mind so that a deep intimacy with mind and body becomes possible.

Dynamic yoga as the name suggests requires a quicker transitions between moves; you will feel that you are having more of a “fitness workout” rather than the meditative type people sometimes associate with yoga. Dynamic yoga classes are often described as uplifting, yet powerful requiring energy through the workout.

Whatever your level of experience, you’ll be welcomed to a Yoga class at The Fitness Mosaic.

The Practical stuff

Please be in the studio early to collect a yoga mat, a block (or two) and straps if your flexibility is limited. If you have your own yoga mat, please bring this with you.

Yoga classes at The Fitness Mosaic are done barefoot; please wear suitable footwear to the studio.

To get the most out of yoga, our instructors will sometimes get “hands on” to facilitate your body movement and to apply simple corrections. If you prefer a contact-free class, simply let the instructor know at the start or during the class of your personal boundaries.
